SOMERSHAM 2019 RESULTS The Early
Years Foundation Stage (Reception) do not level the children in the same way as
Key Stage 1 and 2. Instead the children are judged to be 'emerging', 'expected'
or 'exceeding' in the different aspects of their curriculum. For a child to
achieve a 'Good Level of Development', then they need to be assessed at the
'expected' level or above in the following 'prime' areas: Communication and
Language, Physical Development, Personal Social and Emotional Development,
Literacy and Mathematics. The percentage of children who were at a 'Good Level
