Ofsted

Our Ofsted information

Bramford CEVC Primary School and Somersham Primary School are part of the Bramford and Somersham Primary School Federation.

This page provides access to the statutory Ofsted information for both schools, including their most recent inspection reports.

Ofsted inspections provide an independent evaluation of the quality of education and provision within our schools. We use the findings from inspection alongside our own self-evaluation, pupil outcomes, monitoring, feedback from our school communities and our Federation Development Plan to support our ongoing improvement.

Our commitment to continuous improvement

An Ofsted report provides an important external perspective on a school at a particular point in time. We value the opportunity to reflect on the findings and use them to strengthen our provision.

Across our Federation, our improvement work is guided by our shared vision:

ACE – Aspiration and Combined Excellence for Everyone

We are committed to ensuring that every child can live, learn and laugh, developing academically, personally, socially and spiritually within a caring and inclusive school community.

Our guiding principle is unity, inspired by Psalm 133:

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

We continually evaluate what we do, celebrate our strengths and identify where we can improve further so that everyone can flourish.

Celebrating our schools, reflecting on our practice and continuing to improve

Our Ofsted inspections provide an opportunity for external professionals to look carefully at the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision in our schools.

Continuing the journey

An inspection report is a snapshot of a school at a particular point in time. At Bramford, we continue to use inspection findings alongside pupil outcomes, feedback from our school community, monitoring, professional development and our own self-evaluation to identify where we can improve further.

Our current Federation Development Plan places particular emphasis on:

  • strengthening our shared ACE vision and values
  • ensuring consistency across the Federation
  • continuing to improve the quality and impact of teaching and learning
  • strengthening outcomes for pupils
  • developing pupil voice and agency
  • supporting every child to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Continuing the journey

We are committed to building on the strengths identified through inspection and ensuring that our work continues to make a positive difference to pupils.

Our ongoing improvement work includes a particular focus on:

  • strengthening teaching and learning
  • improving outcomes for all pupils
  • developing consistency in our approaches across the Federation
  • continuing to develop our ACE values
  • strengthening pupil voice, agency and leadership
  • ensuring that every pupil is supported to achieve and flourish.

Looking beyond inspection

Ofsted reports provide an important external perspective, but they are only one part of how we understand the work and impact of our schools.

We also consider:

📚 Pupil outcomes
What children know, remember and can do.

❤️ Pupil wellbeing and personal development
How children grow in confidence, resilience, independence and character.

🌱 Inclusion and belonging
How effectively we ensure that every child feels valued, supported and able to participate.

🗣️ Pupil voice
How children contribute to the life and development of their school.

👩‍🏫 Teaching and professional development
How we continually strengthen the quality of teaching and learning.

🙏 Christian character
At Bramford, how our Christian vision shapes the life of the school and contributes to the flourishing of our pupils and community.
